Family Film Screening: The Jungle Book (1967)

Returns/Turning up on the night without a reservation: This event is fully reserved. However, there may be a chance to obtain return tickets on the evening. A return queue will be started at 7pm when the event opens, and the decision as to whether walk up visitors can gain entry will be made at 7.30pm. Please be aware that if you turn up without a reservation we regret that we cannot guarantee entry.

Forget the back-to-school blues and enjoy an evening of classic cinema with the family.
The Fitzwilliam Museum has joined forces with pop-up cinema company The Star and Mouse Picture Show to bring you Disney's classic animated version of The Jungle Book on the big screen.
So bring a blanket, pack some snacks and join us on the Museum's front lawn for some old-school entertainment. Booking essential.

This event is part of India Unboxed and Open Cambridge.

Helpful Information

Before the screening begins

The Museum gates will open for visitors from 7pm. There will be free drop-in craft activities running from 7 until the screening begins at 7.30pm.

Getting comfy

  • Seating will be unreserved. Please feel free to bring your own blankets and seats. Those who bring seats may be asked to sit in an allocated area to ensure clear sight lines for everyone.
  • All ticket holders will be given size- and sound-adjustable headphones to enjoy the film with.
  • The screening will begin at sunset, 7.30pm, on the front lawn - so bring blankets and wrap up warm.


Refreshments will be available for purchase, including hot and soft drinks, ice cream, and snacks, including packaged popcorn. We regret that alcohol and any glass bottles or containers are not permitted onsite.


Temporary toilets with baby-changing facilities will be available.

Bad Weather

Please note that the screening will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather conditions.
