This mummified baby Nile crocodile was given to Wisbech & Fenland Museum in 1857, and measures just 19cm in length!


Crocodiles were typically associated with the god Sobek, who took the form of a half-man, half-reptile.

The ancient Egyptians hunted and mummified crocodiles as offerings to the gods.This simple craft shows you how to make a crocodile out of a clothes peg, mummification is optional!
