Museums and collections

We welcome all young people to our museums, delivering a variety of fun and inspirational courses, and memorable one off events.

Find out how you can get involved below, and read more about the projects we've run with young people on our blog.

Arts Award
Arts Award is a great way for young people to be inspired by and enjoy museums. It is a national qualification for young people between the ages of 7-25 which introduces a range of art forms through a broad programme of cultural activities and experiences. Designed over five levels, the Award recognises the personal achievements and independent discoveries recorded by the award participants. Find out how we can support your Arts Award.

Circuit is a group of 18-25 year olds who plan creative events and workshops for other young people, with art galleries Kettle's Yard and Wysing Arts Centre.

Join a monthly art group for young people ages 13 - 18 at the Fitzwilliam Museum.

Zoology Club
The Museum of Zoology runs a Zoology Club for 13-18 year olds interested in animals and the science of zoology. Members receive a welcome pack on joining, a free newsletter 3-4 times a year, invitations to special events, and workshops, talks and scientific debates put on for club members.

Preparing for your GCSE or AS/A Level Art and Design exams? Every spring term the Fitzwilliam Museum, with the University of Cambridge Museums, offer support for students as they prepare for their exams. Benefit from one-to-one advice from Museum Educators and freelance artists, gallery tours, on-line resources and art materials in the studio.

Work Experience Taster Days
Aged 13-18  and interested in a career in museums? Join a one day taster event to find out about the variety of jobs available through museums, through a variety of interactive activities, museums tours and talks. Our Work Experience Taster Days run regularly throughout the year, find out about our next event on our Get Involved pages.
