Great St Mary's Church, Senate House Hill, Cambridge, CB2 3PQ

Who

Great St. Mary's church is full of animals, most of them carved on the end of their 19th century wooden pews. This is a chance to take a close look at those animals – real and imaginary – through first finding them on a treasure hunt. You can then learn more about them, and create your own. They will have a variety of art materials that you can create with, or maybe you’d like to explore through words and write a story or poem? You might even spot some animals in their stained glass windows.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate animals and imagination. The church is an interesting place to visit, full of history, and it will be free for you to explore throughout the event. Alongside the main craft tables, there will be an area for younger children to sit and play, and a quiet corner with books and colouring materials.
