Throughout the Library there will be drop-in activities; take part in as many as you like. All activities are included with your ticket, and are drop-in with no further booking required. A map of activities will be provided upon entry to the event.
- Try your hand at making a medieval folded almanac in a workshop facilitated by the Conservation Department.
- Learn how to decipher some of the manuscripts on show with Decoding Middle English challenges, devised by the University’s Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic.
- Listen to lightning talks to learn about ‘the medieval palette’ from Head of Conservation & Heritage, Kristine Rose-Beers, how medical recipes were used in the home from Dr Hannah Bower, and about the plants used in medieval medicine from Bonnie Lander Johnson.
- Get competitive at the board games station curated by Waterstones Cambridge.
- And don’t miss the opportunity to explore the exhibition, Curious Cures, after hours!
Drinks will be available to purchase to enjoy in the fabulous Art Deco building.
Event attendees are welcome to arrive anytime from 7.30pm. Last entry is at 9.20pm. Activities will finish by 9.45pm. The Library will close at 10pm.
