Highlights include

  • apple tasting: over 2 dozen delicious, locally-grown heritage varieties from the region to try and buy

  • apple identification: apple experts from the East of England Apples and Orchards Project will be on hand to identify apples. Vositors should bring along two to three apples, preferably with a leaf and stalk attached, to help with accurate identification

  • apple cultivation: expert advice on what to grow, how to plant and prune for a bumper crop

Plus:

  • apple activities: get crafty with a variety of apple activities in the Schools’ Garden for the young and young-at-heart

  • apple produce: locally produced edibles including hedgerow cordials, fruit-flavoured spirits, hand-pressed juices and ciders, specialty teas, chocolates & artisan cheeses for sale in the Garden’s Main Lawn Marquee

Other entertainment:

  • free Garden seasonal highlight tours (downloadable schedule available closer to the day)

  • live music

  • pop-up food trucks

  • other local craft stalls and sales

Please note: there is an extra charge for visiting the Garden on Apple Day. Tickets are available to purchase now and include full garden admission. We recommend you purchase them in advance via one of the Botanic Garden ticket offices or online (https://www.botanic.cam.ac.uk/whats-on/apple-day/) before the day to avoid the queues
